POSTED AUGUST 31, 2026
Ladera Ranch’s Heritage Farm is entering its first Resident Farmer Program season, giving residents a hands-on way to learn, volunteer and connect with neighbors.
WHAT THE PROGRAM IS
According to the official Heritage Farm page, the inaugural season runs from August 2026 through February 2027. Future seasons are planned for September through February and March through August.
Participants commit to at least two volunteer hours per month. The program is designed to be flexible, with farm shifts offered during the week and on most Saturdays.
WHAT RESIDENTS RECEIVE
The program includes professional guidance, hands-on experience with planting and seasonal farm care, and shared harvests at the end of farming shifts. The page says participation is family-friendly and no previous gardening experience is required.
VolunteerMark is used to view available shifts, register for opportunities, track hours and receive farm updates.
SEPTEMBER 12 SUN-PRINT WORKSHOP
LaderaLife also lists a Sun Prints Workshop at Heritage Farm on Saturday, September 12 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The all-ages activity uses flowers and leaves from the farm to create solar prints. Materials and refreshments are included, and residents must log into LaderaLife to register.
CHECK STATUS BEFORE VISITING
The amenity-status page currently lists Heritage Farm as closed while renovations continue. That operational notice can change, so residents should rely on official registration details and confirm access before visiting outside an organized program or event.
DYLAN’S TAKE
The Resident Farmer Program is the kind of local resource that can turn an amenity into a genuine community connection. It offers something practical for experienced gardeners, curious beginners and families looking for a recurring activity close to home.
